About the Role We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to lead automated testing for Databricks-based data platforms. This role involves working with an existing Pytest framework, validating SQL-driven data pipelines, and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Key Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain automated test suites using Python and Pytest • Validate data migrations and transformations from SQL to Databricks • Write and execute complex SQL queries in Databricks to verify ETL/ELT pipelines • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions • Manage test cases, test plans, and defect traceability in qTest • Use AI-assisted tools such as Databricks Genie and GitHub Copilot to accelerate test creation • Partner with data engineers, developers, and product owners to define test strategies • Mentor junior testers, review automation code, and drive best practices • Investigate failures, perform root-cause analysis, and raise/track defects Requirements • 10+ years of QA/test automation experience, with 5+ years in a senior or lead role • Strong hands-on experience with Python and Pytest for API and data testing • Expert-level SQL skills, with proven experience validating data in Databricks • Experience testing data pipelines and ETL processes
