About the Role We are looking for an experienced Data Governance Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in OpenMetadata (Collate) to support enterprise data governance, metadata management, and data quality initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Implement and configure OpenMetadata/Collate for enterprise data governance and metadata management • Establish metadata ingestion, cataloging, lineage, ownership, and stewardship workflows • Support the implementation of Data Contracts, Data Products, RACI frameworks, and Ontology • Develop and maintain data governance standards, metadata definitions, and data quality processes • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data owners, IT teams, and compliance teams to translate requirements into governance solutions • Perform basic SQL queries and data profiling to validate metadata and data quality • Lead or support multiple customer implementations and governance initiatives Requirements • 5+ years of hands-on experience with OpenMetadata/Collate • Experience with multiple OpenMetadata/Collate customer implementations • Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data stewardship • Experience with Data Contracts, Data Products, RACI, and Ontology • Working knowledge of SQL and data profiling • Excellent stakeholder communication and requirements-gathering skills • Ability to work in a cross-functional, matrixed environment Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies • Relevant technical certifications in data governance or metadata management • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field
