About the Role
We are looking for an experienced GraphQL Developer with strong backend development skills to design and build scalable, high-performance API architectures and microservices. The ideal candidate will have expertise in building unified data layers that support seamless web and mobile experiences.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable GraphQL APIs, including schemas, queries, mutations, and subscriptions.
• Implement schema governance, schema stitching, and/or GraphQL Federation (Apollo Federation).
• Optimize GraphQL performance and resolve issues such as the N+1 problem using batching and caching patterns like DataLoader.
• Implement API security best practices, including query depth limiting, complexity analysis, rate limiting, and RBAC.
• Build and maintain backend services and microservices using modern server-side technologies.
• Integrate GraphQL with REST APIs, gRPC services, third-party platforms, and backend systems.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Profile and optimize API performance, latency, throughput, and memory utilization.
• Develop caching strategies using Redis and CDN/edge caching.
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests.
• Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams and participate in code reviews and CI/CD improvements.
Requirements
• Strong hands-on experience with GraphQL API design and architecture.
• Experience with GraphQL Federation, Apollo Server, schema design, and resolver optimization.
• Strong backend and microservices development experience.
• Experience with Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, and frameworks such as Express, Fastify, or NestJS.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of API performance, security, caching, and automated testing.
