About the Role We are seeking an experienced IBM MQ Exit Developer with strong C programming expertise to maintain, enhance, and modernize custom IBM MQ exits in an enterprise messaging environment. Key Responsibilities • Maintain and enhance existing IBM MQ Channel Exits, API Exits, and Message Exits using C • Ensure exit implementations are thread-safe and optimized for multithreaded MQ environments • Integrate MQ exit logic with external systems such as LDAP and REST APIs • Provide L3 production support and troubleshoot complex MQ exit-related issues • Collaborate with platform and application teams to modernize legacy MQ exit implementations • Evaluate native IBM MQ capabilities to reduce dependency on custom exits • Support MQ migration and modernization initiatives • Maintain technical documentation, coding standards, deployment procedures, versioning, and rollback plans Requirements • 10+ years of overall IT experience • Strong hands-on C programming experience • Extensive experience with IBM WebSphere MQ / IBM MQ Series • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining custom MQ Channel Exits • Strong knowledge of MQ Security Exits, API Exits, and Message Exits • Understanding of IBM MQ internals and messaging architecture • Experience with multithreading and thread-safe C programming • Knowledge of authentication, authorization, message transformation, and observability Preferred Experience • Enterprise messaging platforms • Distributed and hybrid environments • Legacy MQ modernization • Production troubleshooting and performance optimization
