About the Role NTek IS is seeking a Java Application Developer to join their team in Charleroi, Belgium. This is a 12-month contract position that offers a hybrid work model with both onsite and remote options. Key Responsibilities • Develop complex backend functionalities using Java 21+ and Spring Boot • Build modern and responsive frontend interfaces using Angular • Maintain and modernize existing JSF applications • Design, develop and integrate secure REST APIs • Manage data persistence using Hibernate and optimize database performance • Work with OpenShift deployment environments and CI/CD pipelines • Write unit and integration tests and participate in peer code reviews • Collaborate with business analysts to transform family allowance requirements into technical solutions • Contribute to the modernization and continuous improvement of the Itinera family allowance management platform Requirements • Strong experience in Java 21+ and Spring Boot • Hands-on experience with Spring Framework and Spring Batch • Experience with Hibernate and database optimization • Strong knowledge of Angular and JavaScript • Experience maintaining legacy JSF / PrimeFaces applications • Hands-on experience developing and consuming REST APIs • Knowledge of RabbitMQ and Oracle/PostgreSQL • Experience with OpenShift and CI/CD pipelines • Knowledge of GitLab, Jenkins, Maven and SonarQube • Experience with JUnit and Selenium testing • Knowledge of XML, Jira and Confluence • Good communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills
