About the Role We are looking for a Java Web Developer to join a public-sector healthcare technology modernization initiative focused on transforming Medicaid systems. This senior-level role combines frontend and backend web development, distributed systems design, web services, and production support for Medicaid web applications and EDI services. Key Responsibilities • Contribute to a complex public-sector healthcare technology modernization initiative • Develop responsive, mobile-ready user interfaces and Java-based applications • Support system testing, implementation, maintenance, and the software development lifecycle • Design, develop, and implement enterprise-level web-based distributed systems • Develop responsive user interfaces that support smartphones, tablets, and modern web technologies • Design and develop Java applications using industry-standard frameworks • Plan and support highly available, scalable applications • Apply software engineering standards and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle • Work with end users and business analysts to translate business needs into incremental software development projects • Collaborate with business users, analysts, software engineers, database architects and administrators, quality assurance engineers, infrastructure teams, and support staff • Support and maintain newly developed technology solutions within a production support environment Requirements • 7+ years of experience with Java • 7+ years of experience with HTML • 7+ years of experience with JavaScript • 7+ years of experience with jQuery • 5+ years of experience with EDI transaction sets: 270/271, 276/277, and 837 • 5+ years of experience with MongoDB • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Adaptability, flexibility, self-motivation, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and time management skills • Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment
