About the Role We are looking for a highly experienced Lead Java Backend Developer to join Apple's team in Cupertino, CA. This is a 12+ month contract position requiring strong hands-on coding skills and deep AWS expertise. Key Responsibilities • Design and implement backend systems using Java and Spring Boot • Develop and maintain microservices architecture • Utilize AWS Cloud Services for cloud-native applications • Work with Kubernetes and Docker for container orchestration • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and CodeDeploy • Manage Kafka, Redis, and PostgreSQL for data processing • Ensure system observability, monitoring, and troubleshooting • Work with Linux/Unix environments • Develop cloud-native applications and distributed systems Requirements • 10–15+ years of experience in software development • Strong hands-on backend coding skills (80–90% coding) • Deep AWS expertise and cloud-native architecture experience • Experience with large-scale distributed systems • Production troubleshooting skills • Excellent communication and technical leadership skills • Must have experience with Java, Spring Boot, Backend Development, Microservices, AWS Cloud Services, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Jenkins, CodeDeploy, Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, Observability, Monitoring, Troubleshooting, Linux, Unix, Cloud-Native Applications, and Distributed Systems Preferred Qualifications • Experience with product-based companies like Apple, AWS, Meta, Netflix, PayPal, or high-growth startups • Strong cloud engineering and migration experience • Python/Go, Service Mesh, Spark, or Flink experience
