About the Role We are seeking a Network Security Cloud Engineer to join our team for a 6+ month contract. This role focuses on designing, configuring, and optimizing AWS WAF and related cloud security controls in enterprise environments. Key Responsibilities • Assess and document existing AWS firewall infrastructure and cloud security posture • Design, configure, and optimize AWS WAF and related cloud security controls • Review and enhance firewall policies, rules, and security frameworks • Modernize legacy cloud security solutions and implement industry best practices • Automate scalable cloud security deployments using Terraform or similar IaC tools • Manage traffic routing, load balancing, traffic inspection, and firewall integrations • Strengthen API security and perform security testing in non-production environments • Collaborate with network engineering teams to transition from traditional networking to cloud-native security • Provide technical leadership, documentation, coaching, and knowledge transfer Requirements • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS WAF in enterprise environments • Proven experience building and configuring AWS firewall environments from the ground up • Strong expertise in cloud security architecture, firewall policies, and network security • Experience with Terraform, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) • Ability to lead knowledge transfer, mentor network engineers, and implement cloud security best practices Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) security and firewall technologies • Familiarity with Palo Alto Networks, Check Point, or other enterprise firewall platforms • Experience working in large enterprise environments with established security governance and change management processes • Proven experience leading cloud security modernization and transformation initiatives
