About the Role We are looking for an experienced Optical Network Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in DWDM and optical transport networks. This role involves designing, installing, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting optical network systems. Key Responsibilities • Design and engineer DWDM and optical transport networks • Develop fiber layouts, equipment designs, SOWs, BOMs, and project schedules • Prepare wavelength plans and optical power/loss budgets • Perform field installation, commissioning, and network turn-up • Conduct fiber testing and troubleshooting using OTDR, BERT, and optical power testing • Coordinate with vendors and field engineering teams • Support emergency restoration, on-call activities, and occasional after-hours work Requirements • Strong hands-on experience with DWDM and Optical Transport Networks • Optical network design, engineering, and implementation • Fiber-optic networks and outside-plant fiber • SONET/TDM, Ethernet/MPLS, and Microwave/RF • Cisco ONS 15454, CTP, and EPNM • Utility telecommunications or critical infrastructure experience • Familiarity with SCADA, EMS, RTU, and OT environments • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle • Willingness to travel to field sites and substations • Availability for occasional on-call and emergency support • Ability to attend an onsite interview
