About the Role We are actively seeking a hands-on Platform Infrastructure & Network Engineer to build, engineer, and deploy high-availability virtualization infrastructure for a Tier-1 multi-tenant network services platform across global Equinix POPs. This role requires direct, practitioner-level experience in the infrastructure layer, specifically with Red Hat OpenStack and OpenShift (Kubernetes) environments hosting Virtualized Network Functions (VNFs) and Containerized Network Functions (CNFs). Key Responsibilities • Build, engineer, and deploy high-availability virtualization infrastructure • Install, configure, and operationalize Red Hat OpenStack and OpenShift environments • Deploy and provide lifecycle support for VNFs and CNFs • Implement high-speed fabric and Layer 2 overlay networking solutions • Ensure multi-tenant isolation and hardening Requirements • 12+ years of hands-on OpenStack & OpenShift Infrastructure experience • Direct implementation, lifecycle management, and bare-metal server integration skills • VNF & CNF Engineering: Hands-on deployment and lifecycle support for virtualized network functions • High-Speed Fabric & Layer 2 Overlays: Experience with dual rack/rail backplane designs, leaf/spine switching up to 100G/400G, and VXLAN overlay networking • WAN & Resilient Connectivity: Experience with jump-host patterns, AVPN, IPsec tunnels, and carrier interconnects across Equinix POPs • Multi-Tenant Isolation & Hardening: Enforcing compute isolation, ASPRR security compliance, and Tier-4 escalation troubleshooting
