About the Role We are looking for an experienced Principal Data Engineer/Architect to join our team at AKAASA TECHNOLOGIES INC. This role will be hybrid ONSITE/REMOTE with an onsite presence in San Diego, CA at least 2-3 days each week. The Principal Engineer 1, Data Platforms serves as the technical lead accountable for the data platform, architecting the solution, building alongside the team, and driving delivery with urgency and accountability. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the technical lead for the client’s Microsoft Fabric-based data lakehouse, including workspace topology, OneLake storage design, medallion-layer standards, Spark and SQL compute configuration, and CI/CD pipeline design • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data and analytics engineers through code reviews, architectural guidance, and hands-on problem solving • Design and build production-grade data ingestion pipelines across 50+ source systems (ERP, Veeva, LIMS, ELN, CTMS, HRIS, and others) using Data Requirements • 12-15 years of experience in data engineering or architecture • Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric and data lakehouse technologies • Proficiency in workspace topology, OneLake storage design, medallion-layer standards, Spark, and SQL • Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and implementation • Knowledge of ERP, Veeva, LIMS, ELN, CTMS, HRIS, and other source systems • Ability to work collaboratively with business partners and technical teams
