About the Role We are looking for a hands-on QA Automation Specialist to find opportunities for automation, build reliable test frameworks, and help development teams ship quality software faster. This role involves working closely with QA analysts, developers, and stakeholders to transform manual testing into scalable automated coverage. Key Responsibilities • Identify automation opportunities in software and business processes • Design, write, and execute automated test scripts for UI, API, and performance testing • Build and maintain data-driven, keyword-driven, or hybrid automation frameworks • Analyze manual test cases and decide what should be automated • Investigate defects found in testing and work with developers to resolve them • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines • Gather requirements from end users and document automation solutions Requirements • Strong hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks: • UI testing: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or WebDriverIO • API testing: Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI • Performance testing: JMeter or Gatling • Solid understanding of test frameworks (TestNG, JUnit, Mocha) and BDD tools (Cucumber, SpecFlow) • Ability to analyze manual test cases and identify areas suitable for automation Also looking for: • Proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C# • Version control and CI/CD experience with Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI • Deep knowledge of the STLC and QA methodologies (functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, and exploratory testing) • Strong communication skills and the ability to work under tight timelines • Prior Ontario Public Service (OPS) or public sector experience
