About the Role We are looking for a QA Engineer to join the State of New York – Department of Labor. This role focuses on testing enterprise web applications, distributed systems, and AI-enabled applications. Key Responsibilities • Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing of enterprise web applications and distributed systems • Test REST API and microservices, including payload validation, schemas, authentication, error handling, and backend data verification • Test Java-based enterprise applications and use SQL for backend data validation • Test AI-enabled applications and integrations, including validation of AI-generated outputs and data exchanged with systems of record • Validate Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, clients, tools, or integrations • Create test plans, test cases, requirement traceability, defect reports, and test execution summaries in Agile environments Requirements • 8+ years of experience in QA engineering • 5+ years of functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing of enterprise web applications and distributed systems • 3+ years of REST API and microservices testing • 3+ years of testing Java-based enterprise applications and using SQL for backend data validation • 1+ year of testing AI-enabled applications and integrations • 1+ year of hands-on experience validating Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, clients, tools, or integrations • 2+ years of API/service testing using Postman, SoapUI, JMeter, or equivalent tools • 2+ years of creating test plans, test cases, requirement traceability, defect reports, and test execution summaries in Agile environments
