About the Role We are seeking a QA Tester to join the State of Iowa team. This role focuses on ensuring software quality for government and education grant applications. Key Responsibilities • Perform functional, regression, UAT, usability, and accessibility testing • Validate web application accessibility using relevant tools and techniques • Create, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test documentation • Develop and maintain automated test scripts where appropriate • Conduct API testing and web service validation • Perform SQL and database testing to validate records, data accuracy, and integrity • Identify, document, track, and manage defects throughout the SDLC • Review business and technical requirements to develop comprehensive test scenarios • Collaborate with stakeholders in Agile development environments Requirements • Minimum 5+ years of software quality assurance and testing experience • Strong experience in manual testing methodologies • Accessibility certification (CPACC, WAS, or equivalent) • Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, Section 508, and government accessibility requirements • Experience with accessibility testing tools • Ability to create, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and documentation • Experience with automation testing and creating test scripts • Hands-on experience with API testing and web service validation • Advanced SQL query skills and database testing experience • Experience identifying, documenting, and managing defects • Ability to review business and technical requirements • Experience working in Agile or similar software development environments • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, written communication, and collaboration skills
