About the Role Amdocs is seeking a hands-on Software Development Engineer I to build backend components and APIs supporting AI/ML-enabled applications. This role is ideal for an early-career software engineer with practical programming experience, backend development skills, and an interest in AI-assisted development. Key Responsibilities • Develop backend services and software components • Build and maintain REST APIs and backend interfaces • Program in Java, Go, Kotlin, C++, or another relevant language • Write unit and integration tests • Debug issues and help improve application performance • Participate in code reviews • Support CI/CD, builds, and deployment workflows • Use AI development tools to support effective engineering Requirements • Practical programming experience • Backend development skills • Experience with Java, Go, Kotlin, or C++ • Knowledge of REST APIs • Understanding of CI/CD practices • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) • Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible) • Experience with Linux environments • Understanding of automation and scripting • Interest in AI-assisted development
