About the Role
We are seeking a Managing Editor to join the Creative Services team at Alliance Defending Freedom. This role involves overseeing the development, quality, and consistency of written content while leading a team of writers. The Managing Editor will ensure all editorial output aligns with organizational voice and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead, mentor, and manage a team of writers, providing clear direction and performance feedback.
- →Assign and prioritize writing projects to ensure timely delivery.
- →Maintain high editorial standards and ensure consistency of tone and messaging.
- →Write, edit, and refine press releases, op-eds, and feature stories.
- →Review and approve content for accuracy and alignment with organizational messaging.
- →Partner with stakeholders to align content with organizational strategy.
- →Contribute to content planning for campaigns and media outreach.
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- ✓7+ years of professional writing and editing experience, including 2+ years in leadership.
- ✓Proven track record of producing high-quality written materials under tight deadlines.
- ✓Strong editing skills with attention to clarity and detail.
- ✓Experience with media relations or public affairs teams.
- ✓Ability to coach and develop writers.
- ✓Strong organizational and project management skills.
