About the Role

Apex Companies is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing environmental consulting firm. This role involves managing environmental remediation projects under the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP).

Key Responsibilities

→Manage a portfolio of FDEP PRP sites through all phases of assessment, remediation, and site closure.
→Develop, track, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work.
→Coordinate internal technical staff, subcontractors, and laboratories to ensure timely and compliant project execution.
→Proactively monitor project progress and deadlines to prevent delays.
→Manage project budgets and cost controls in accordance with PRP funding constraints.
→Coordinate accurate invoicing submittals with administrative staff.
→Participate in PRP teleconferences, meetings, and site visits as required.
→Promote adherence to company quality assurance and health and safety programs.
→Work independently while collaborating effectively with the PRP team.

Requirements

✓BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
✓Prefer candidates with Professional Geologist license obtained or on track to obtain.
✓5-10 years of experience with the State of Florida Petroleum Restoration Program, Florida Regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures.
✓Ability to manage multiple projects within contract requirements.
✓40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
✓Valid driver's license, safe driving history, and reliable transportation required.
✓Strong communication skills.
✓Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
✓AutoCAD proficiency is a plus.
