About the Role
We are seeking a Software Engineer to join Blockstream, a market leader in Bitcoin security and Layer-2 technologies. This entry-level to senior role focuses on developing blockchain and digital asset solutions for enterprise and institutional clients.
Key Responsibilities
- βWrite clean, maintainable code following team coding standards
- βImplement features and functionality based on technical specifications
- βDebug and resolve software defects with guidance from senior team members
- βDevelop and execute unit tests to ensure code quality
- βParticipate in code reviews to learn from experienced developers
- βSupport integration activities with APIs, databases, and external systems
- βDocument code and technical processes clearly
- βCollaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, and QA teams
Requirements
- βBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- β0-5 years of professional software development experience
- βProficiency in at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, Java, or Rust)
- βUnderstanding of fundamental programming concepts: data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming
- βFamiliarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows
- βSelf-starter with proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and geographies
- βStrong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- βEagerness to learn new technologies and adapt quickly
- βEnglish required; Swiss German/German, French and/or Italian a plus
- βLocation: Switzerland, with focus on Lugano
