About the Role

The New York City Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD) is seeking a Project Manager to join the Homeownership and Shared Equity team. This role involves overseeing programs that create affordable homeownership and shared equity opportunities, working with various stakeholders including developers, tenants, and lenders.

Key Responsibilities

→Determine feasibility of proposed projects and proposed loan terms, including performing financial analysis
→Model, prepare, review, interpret, and make recommendations related to development budgets, pro formas, and affordability analyses
→Prepare credit committee and other project proposal materials for senior staff review
→Act as a liaison to selected developer, architect, General Contractor, private institutional lender and other project partners
→Track, monitor and troubleshoot projects through pre-construction, construction and permanent conversion
→Review legal documents for accuracy in regards to program policy and negotiated deal terms
→Schedule and attend tenant and community meetings to represent the agency
→Counsel designated developers in program policies and regulations

Requirements

✓Experience with housing finance, real estate underwriting or financial feasibility analysis
✓Experience managing projects from start to finish
✓Ability to follow-through on tasks in a timely manner
