About the Role

ClickHouse is seeking a Platform Auth Engineer to join our growing team. This role focuses on supporting our 'one customer identity' vision by providing tools and expertise for unified access management while simplifying engineering patterns.

Key Responsibilities

→Develop, manage and collaborate with engineering teams for authentication, authorization, audit logging and monitoring
→Ensure secure, user-friendly access to systems with support for SAML, SCIM, MFA and passwordless auth
→Ensure proper resource authorization that is secure and easy to understand
→Capture events for analysis and surface them to internal teams and customers
→Collaborate with engineering teams to understand database access management patterns and provide guidance
→Work with teams to develop common patterns for secure management of credentials
→Ensure systems comply with security and compliance frameworks like NIST
→Create and maintain internal documentation for identity and access management systems
→Respond to on-call escalations involving the identity and access management platform

Requirements

✓4+ years of experience as a software engineer with focus on complex system design
✓Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
✓Experience implementing authentication and authorization services to standards like SAML, SCIM, OAuth2, or OIDC
✓Direct experience with Auth0, Okta, Cloud IAM (AWS, GCP, Azure) and AuthZ systems
✓Experience implementing access control on web applications, APIs and databases
✓Experience with distributed systems, cloud computing, and scalable architectures
✓Passion for building secure systems that are easy to use and develop against
✓Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within and across engineering teams
✓Strong problem solver with solid production debugging skills
✓Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
✓High level of responsibility, ownership and accountability
