About the Role
We are looking for a Staff Product Manager to lead the Commerce consumer experience end-to-end at Discord. You will set the product vision and strategy for how players discover and buy 3P in-game items on Discord, drive execution across a cross-functional team, and shape the long-term direction of Commerce as a core part of Discord's platform.
Key Responsibilities
- →Set the product philosophy, vision, and multi-quarter roadmap for how players discover and purchase 3P in-game items on Discord
- →Lead cross-functional execution with a team of engineers, designers, data scientists, and partnerships to build and ship consumer-facing commerce experiences
- →Drive our social commerce strategy - including group buying, wishlists, gifting, and other new mechanics
- →Partner with game studios and publishers to deeply understand their player journeys, business goals, and technical constraints
- →Own key commerce metrics (conversion, revenue, attach rates) and drive a rigorous experimentation culture
- →Independently make decisions for your product area and act as a momentum catalyst for your execution team
- →Clearly communicate roadmaps, priorities, experiments, and results across various audiences
- →Shape Discord's long-term strategy for becoming a meaningful commerce destination for games
Requirements
- ✓7+ years of experience building and shipping great software
- ✓Strong product experience building ecommerce, marketplace, or in-game purchasing experiences
- ✓Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and execute on defining the path forward
- ✓Demonstrated technical proficiency working closely with engineers on complex systems
- ✓Strong analytical ability to design experiments, organize and leverage data
- ✓Experience owning mobile user experiences where simplicity, trust, and conversion are central
- ✓Deep understanding of the gaming landscape, player behavior, and what game studios expect from platform partnerships
- ✓Proven track record of influencing strategy and gaining alignment across senior stakeholders
