About the Role

Fieldguide is looking for a Lead Security Engineer to build and own their information security program. This role reports directly to the CTO and will take ownership of the technical security function, scaling it with the business.

Key Responsibilities

→Lead secure design reviews, threat modeling, and security-focused code reviews
→Ensure security is ingrained into the SDLC
→Own authentication, authorization, API security, and data protection architecture
→Architect and maintain security tooling integrated into CI/CD pipelines
→Evaluate and mitigate risks specific to Fieldguide's AI Agents
→Build and run Fieldguide’s vulnerability management program
→Partner with infrastructure engineering to review and improve cloud security
→Establish runbooks, communication protocols, and post-incident review practices
→Partner with Compliance to ensure technical controls satisfy framework requirements

Requirements

✓8+ years in security with a primary background in application security
✓Track record of building or significantly maturing a security program
✓Strong programming skills with experience writing production software
✓Familiarity with AWS security services and patterns
✓Experience with threat modeling methodologies and secure design review processes
✓Experience managing external penetration tests and coordinating remediation
