Jobscan is seeking a Business Development Representative to join our fast-growing startup. This role focuses on identifying institutions aligned with Jobscan's value proposition and qualifying prospects through thoughtful conversations.
Key Responsibilities
- →Research target institutions, programs, and stakeholders to understand organizational structure and buying dynamics
- →Initiate outbound conversations via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels
- →Lead early conversations that diagnose institutional readiness and fit
- →Develop and refine messaging tailored to different buyer personas
- →Challenge prospects respectfully when their current approach is unlikely to drive real employment outcomes
- →Maintain and nurture a focused book of prospects with thoughtful follow-up
- →Run structured outreach experiments across messaging, channels, and timing
- →Maintain clean, accurate records in the CRM
- →Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams
- →Stay informed on trends in hiring, higher education, and AI
Requirements
- ✓Experience selling or marketing a business-facing product or service
- ✓Comfort initiating cold outreach and leading conversations with senior stakeholders
- ✓Strong written and verbal communication skills
- ✓Demonstrated business judgment and understanding of purchasing decisions
- ✓Strong curiosity and a self-directed learning mindset
- ✓Ability to think critically about fit, readiness, and priority
- ✓Comfort operating in ambiguity and adapting your approach
- ✓Experience using a CRM as a core tool for planning work
- ✓Strong analytical instincts
