Our Mission
Launched in 2012, Tinder® revolutionized how people meet, growing from 1 match to one billion matches in just two years. This rapid growth demonstrates its ability to fulfill a fundamental human need: real connection. Today, the app has been downloaded over 630 million times, leading to over 97 billion matches, serving approximately 50 million users per month in 190 countries and 45+ languages - a scale unmatched by any other app in the category. In 2024, Tinder won four Effie Awards for its first-ever global brand campaign, “It Starts with a Swipe”™
Our Values
One Team, One Dream: We work hand-in-hand, building Tinder for our members. We succeed together when we work collaboratively across functions, teams, and time zones, and think outside the box to achieve our company vision and mission.
Own It: We take accountability and strive to make a positive impact in all aspects of our business, through ownership, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.
Never Stop Learning: We cultivate a culture where it’s safe to take risks. We seek out input, share honest feedback, celebrate our wins, and learn from our mistakes in order to continue improving.
Spark Solutions: We’re problem solvers, focusing on how to best move forward when faced with obstacles. We don’t dwell on the past or on the issues at hand, but instead look at how to stay agile and overcome hurdles to achieve our goals.
Embrace Our Differences: We are intentional about building a workplace that reflects the rich diversity of our members. By leveraging different perspectives and other ways of thinking, we build better experiences for our members and our team.
The Team
The Modes team sits within Tinder’s Core pillar and is responsible for the end‑to‑end experience that helps members present themselves, discover others, and turn interest into meaningful connections at scale.
As a Senior Product Manager, Modes, you will lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution for new and existing Modes experiences (e.g., Double Date, Music, and future formats) that give members new ways to connect beyond the classic 1:1 swipe and match. You’ll partner closely with UXR, Design, and Analytics to turn ambiguous opportunity spaces into clear bets, and ensure Modes contributes meaningfully to Tinder’s user problems and business goals.
This is a high‑impact, senior IC role: you will be part of a cross‑functional squad to deliver outcomes while mentoring other PMs and partners on product craft.
Where you’ll work:
This is a hybrid role based in Ghent, Belgium and requires in‑office collaboration three days per week. Occasional travel to other Tinder offices (e.g., US West Coast) may be needed for planning, workshops, and team onsites.
In this role, you will:
• Own the Modes strategy and roadmap: Lead, influence, and take responsibility for the strategy, outcomes, and execution of the Modes roadmap within Core, aligning to Tinder’s mission, user problems, and company OKRs.
• Define the Modes vision and narrative: In close collaboration with Product Marketing, articulate a compelling vision for how Modes (e.g., Double Date) help Gen Z get more value from their time on Tinder and reduce pressure, and translate that into clear goals and success metrics.
• Ship member‑facing experiences end‑to‑end: Define the requirements, design, and delivery of user‑facing features, working deeply with Design and Engineering to create experiences that feel fast, fun, and safe.
• Leverage insights and experimentation: Use UXR, data analysis, and experimentation to understand how members use existing Modes, identify new opportunities, and make rigorous trade‑offs between acquisition, engagement, retention, and ecosystem health.
• Collaborate across Core and beyond: Partner with Browse, Chat, Recs, Integrity, UXR, Analytics, Marketing, Member Experience, and Legal/Privacy to ensure Modes are discoverable, safe, and coherent within the broader Tinder experience.
• Drive clarity and decision‑making: Synthesize input from many stakeholders, clearly frame options and trade‑offs, and make decisions that balance member value, business impact, and technical constraints, in line with Senior PM expectations around structured problem‑solving and strategic thinking.
• Raise the bar on product craft: Create high‑quality narratives, PRDs, wireframes, and reviews that clarify the “why, what, and how”; model strong product thinking and mentor other PMs and cross‑functional partners on discovery, prioritization, and experimentation.
• Represent Modes externally and internally: Be the go‑to person for Modes within Tinder—communicating progress, risks, and learnings to leadership and adjacent teams, and contributing to Core‑wide and Product‑wide strategy discussions.
You’ll need:
• Experience: 5+ years in product management, preferably at a high‑growth consumer tech company, with a track record of shipping impactful features on mobile (iOS/Android), ideally in marketplace, social, or consumer engagement products.
• Strong product and UX intuition: Deep empathy for Gen Z and social products, with the ability to translate ambiguous member needs into clear problem statements and intuitive, delightful experiences.
• Analytical and experimental rigor: Comfort defining metrics, reading experiment results, and using both quantitative and qualitative signals to guide roadmap and iteration. Experience working with Analytics and ML teams is a plus.
• End‑to‑end ownership: Demonstrated ability to take products from 0→1 and 1→N—setting vision, aligning stakeholders, executing with a cross‑functional squad, and iterating post‑launch based on results.
• Cross‑functional leadership: Proven skill in working with Engineering, Design, UXR, Analytics, Marketing, and Integrity to deliver complex, multi‑team initiatives. You define clear roles, responsibilities, outcomes, and performance expectations for the teams you work with and proactively identify gaps and risks.
• Communication and influence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to simplify complex ideas, create alignment among diverse stakeholders, and drive decisions without formal authority.
• Mentorship and craft leadership: While this is an IC role, you actively mentor other PMs and partners, provide actionable feedback, and help develop product culture and best practices in line with the Senior PM level in our Product Career Pathways.
Nice to have:
• Experience working on social, dating, or other 2‑sided marketplace products, especially those with real‑time or time‑bound experiences (e.g., events, limited‑time modes).
• Direct experience building or scaling new connection formats (beyond 1:1 chat), such as groups, live experiences, or multi‑party interactions.
• Prior work with recommendation systems, ranking/ML, or personalization in consumer products.
• Experience collaborating across US/EU time zones, and operating as a senior IC partner to directors and VPs in a distributed organization.
• Familiarity with Gen Z social behavior and online culture, including how they discover, join, and retain interest in new modes and communities.
• Comfort working closely with Integrity / Trust & Safety teams to balance fun, growth, and safety in new experiences.
