As Senior HR Business Partner for PayU Romania, youβll be the strategic partner for local and regional leadership and a key driver of people initiatives that support business performance. You will be part of a regional HR team, collaborating closely with colleagues across multiple countries. Youβll ensure smooth delivery of core HR processes, strong employee experience, full local compliance, and youβll also help shape talent development initiatives (trainings, OD programs) while supporting recruitment needs on an occasional basis.
Responsibilities:
β’ Partner with local and regional leaders to deliver the People agenda and support the business in achieving operational and financial goals.
β’ Work as part of a regional HR team, aligning local priorities with regional initiatives and ways of working.
β’ Ensure core HR processes run smoothly end-to-end (performance cycles, engagement actions, policies, lifecycle processes), with a continuous improvement mindset.
β’ Drive talent development locally: identify needs with leaders, coordinate trainings/workshops, support learning programs rollout and adoption.
β’ Contribute to organization development: support org design changes, team effectiveness actions, culture/ways of working initiatives.
β’ Own the relationship with the external payroll & HR admin provider: governance, accuracy, SLAs, continuous improvements, issue resolution.
β’ Support workforce analytics (quantitative & qualitative): headcount planning, dashboards/insights, trends and recommendations.
β’ Collaborate with regional HR teams on compensation & market insights (salary surveys, benchmarking, compensation analysis).
β’ Support regional initiatives/projects (e.g., new L&D tools, EU Pay Transparency Directive implementation, C&B practices, HR projects).
β’ Ensure full compliance with Romanian labor law and manage employee relations topics with care and consistency.
β’ Ensure audit readiness and support all internal & external audits (statutory/non-statutory), including compliance reviews (e.g., SOX, Health & Safety), documentation, evidence gathering, and timely stakeholder coordination.
β’ Partner with the business on Risk, Health & Safety topics where applicable.
β’ Coordinate local HR events and employee experience initiatives, with the support of the admin team.
β’ Provide occasional recruitment support: intake with managers, role calibration, interview participation, offer support, or coordination with TA (as needed).
What are we looking for:
β’ 5 years of experience as HRBP in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment (preferred).
β’ Bachelorβs degree in a relevant field (e.g., Organizational Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, HR, Business).
β’ Strong knowledge of Romanian labor legislation and solid employee relations experience.
β’ Strong stakeholder management: ability to influence leaders, build trust, and navigate a matrix organization.
β’ Proven hands-on experience with payroll and personnel administration, ideally in a model with an external provider (vendor management).
β’ Cross-cultural collaboration skills: proven ability to work effectively in international environments (beyond Romania), with cultural sensitivity, openness, and strong partnership mindset.
β’ Comfortable using data to drive decisions; solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
β’ Excellent communication skills (Romanian & English), with attention to detail.
β’ Proactive, self-driven, able to prioritize and deliver with autonomy.
β’ Fluent English
