About the Role
Samsara is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their Cloud Governance Platform team. This role involves building foundational platforms that enforce governance, identity security, compliance, and software supply-chain protections across Samsara’s cloud infrastructure and developer environments.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead the continuous maturation of Samsara’s Cloud Governance Platform
- →Define and own the roadmap and long-term vision for governance and security platforms
- →Drive compliance through engineering
- →Own software supply-chain security initiatives
- →Partner with Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, and Product Engineering
- →Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing platform engineering team
- →Communicate progress, risks, and architectural decisions to senior leadership
- →Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- ✓8+ years of technical experience, including 2+ years managing engineers
- ✓Strong hands-on background in cloud platform engineering
- ✓Experience with large-scale web services on AWS, Azure, or similar platforms
- ✓Strong understanding of cloud security vulnerabilities and mitigations
- ✓Proven ability to deliver on roadmap goals and coach engineering talent
- ✓Experience defining and maintaining SLAs for critical infrastructure services
- ✓Excellent communication and collaboration skills
