As part of our Strategy & Business Operations team, the Technical Product Owner is responsible for ensuring our teams have the systems and processes in place to support their work as they track legislation and monitor team interactions with elected officials in support of our policy change efforts. In this role, you will work with stakeholders to refine a vision to leverage existing tools (including Quorum), implement new processes and products that will advance business strategies, and create actionable expectations around these tools for use across the organization. Â
In this role, you will partner across departments, craft a vision, prioritize work based on strategic business value (not individual preferences), and communicate with clarity. You must be comfortable operating at both the tactical and strategic levels, turning today’s feedback into tomorrow’s vision while always weighing the downstream effects of technical changes. Â
How You Will Contribute
• Partner with stakeholders to create clear, actionable user stories that translate high level goals into developer-ready features and workflows.
• Translate high-level goals into features and workflows developers can execute.
• Maintain and prioritize a product backlog that balances immediate needs with long-term strategy and user experience.
• Evaluate and communicate features trade-offs, ensuring decisions align with strategic goals such as improved knowledge processes, data quality, compliance, and platform adoption.
• Anticipate downstream impacts of platform changes on workflows, analytics, governance, and user behavior, and coordinate across capabilities to ensure technical alignment and scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with internal training teams to ensure staff can effectively use and maintain technical tools.
• Coordinate for technical alignment. Partner with capabilities across the Stand Together community to ensure technical feasibility, prevent negative ripple effects, and align on scalable solutions
• Communicate with clarity and respect. Explain product decisions and trade-offs to staff at all levels, tailoring the message to the audience and maintaining alignment
• Communicate decisions clearly, engage feedback constructively, and keep teams aligned through consistent updates.
• Work closely with partners across Government Affairs, Policy, State Operations, and Political to ensure a unified vision, clear SOPs, and consistent expectations.
