About the Role

Toptal is seeking a General Manager to drive the growth of a new, high-impact business line. This is a remote position where you will be the end-to-end owner of the business, responsible for market positioning, strategy, product-market fit, profitability, and scalable operations.

Key Responsibilities

→Build a new business from the ground up, starting with market positioning and strategy
→Optimize supply and demand for the business while balancing top-line growth and operational efficiency
→Analyze market and industry opportunities to identify those with highest potential
→Lead the creation of an execution plan to ensure the right talent and solutions are available for Toptal clients
→Work closely with Executive and Senior Leadership to align the business with Toptal's growth goals
→Establish robust analytics and feedback loops to continuously refine strategy
→Guide clients as a trusted business partner through their business challenges
→Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Sales teams

Requirements

✓Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred
✓10+ years of experience driving and managing a business with strong understanding of operations and management principles
✓3+ years managing a business with P&L ownership
✓Experience in a professional services organization driving business growth
✓Demonstrated success in building and launching a new business or product offering
✓Experience at a technology or hyper-growth company preferred
✓Leadership experience in a fast-paced, multi-function environment
✓Strong commercial acumen with understanding of market needs and business goals
✓Excellent written and oral communication skills
✓Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
✓Adaptable with ability to manage changing priorities
✓Ownership mindset with a focus on quality and results
