Scrum Master (JIRA & Confluence Administrator) at zurigroup

Overview: This position will function as a combined Scrum Master and JIRA/Confluence Administrator to establish Agile methodology with a team of about 15 developers and technical leads who are producing custom deliverables for clients within software implementation and optimization projects.  Our client projects focus on the effective use of fundraising technology. This includes solution strategy, CRM system transformation and migration, software implementation, system customization, integration, and digital fundraising experience.  website build and optimization.  The ideal candidate is a proactive facilitator who will use effective Scrum practices to support team collaboration, remove impediments, and promote continuous improvement. This leader will ensure that Jira and Confluence are optimized for Agile teams, scalable for growth, and aligned with business processes. Job Responsibilities • Agile Facilitation & Jira Administration • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives. • Help the team maintain focus on sprint goals and commitments. • Administer and maintain Jira projects, workflows, fields, screens, issue types, permissions, and notifications. • Team Support & Coaching • Coach team members on Agile values, principles, and practices, including the adoption of JIRA as a tool to support these. • Encourage self-organization and accountability within the organization and accountability within the team. • Collaborate with the PMO Operations Team to develop and deliver training materials, documentation, and best practice guides. • Impediment Removal • Identify and remove blockers to help the team deliver efficiently. • Escalate risks and dependencies to internal stakeholders when necessary while protecting the team from unnecessary disruption. • Collaboration & Communication • Partner with Technical Leads and client-facing project managers to refine the backlog, maintain clear priorities, and understand delivery needs. • Build dashboards, filters, and reports in JIRA that provide clear snapshots of work item status for stakeholders and leadership. • Continuous Improvement • Track team performance using Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time, throughput, etc.). • Facilitate improvement initiatives based on data and team feedback. • Encourage experimentation and iterative problem solving. • Ensure Jira is organized, clean, and aligned with organizational standards. • The above statements are not intended to be a complete statement of job content, rather to act as a guide to the essential functions performed by the employee assigned to this classification. Relevant Skills & Experience • 1–3 years of hands-on experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Project Coordinator. • Demonstrated understanding of Scrum and Agile methodologies. • 1–3 years of experience working with Jira or other similar tools such as Azure DevOps. • Demonstrated Experience in the non-profit, higher education, or healthcare industries is strongly preferred. Preferred Qualifications • Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I, or equivalent). • Basic understanding of product development life cycles. • Familiarity with Kanban or other Agile frameworks. • Highly analytical, technically proficient, and able to learn new tools and software quickly. • Foster an environment of open communication and continuous learning. • Advanced presentation, influencing, and relationship management skills. • Organized with the ability to manage complex workflows. • Adaptable to work in a fluid, fast-paced environment juggling multiple tasks, priorities, and stakeholders. • Proven ability to make independent decisions quickly and effectively, while determining and considering impact on applicable project(s). • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging. Bonus Points • Experience with Salesforce and/or Blackbaud CRM implementations. • Familiarity with JQL (Jira Query Language) and the Jira application Structure. Salary range for this role is $82,500 to $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
