About the Role Ross Stores is seeking a Data Engineer to join their enterprise data technology team and support their modern cloud data platform. This role involves a combination of innovation and platform support, focusing on developing solutions using Snowflake, Azure, Python, and SQL while exploring emerging data and AI technologies. Key Responsibilities • Design and implement solutions using Snowflake, Azure, Python, and SQL • Research emerging technologies and prototype new capabilities • Build Proofs of Concept (POCs) and evaluate technical/business use cases • Perform performance investigation and root-cause analysis • Provide occasional L2/L3 technical support Requirements • 7+ years of overall IT experience • 5+ years of experience in data platforms • 5+ years of strong modern data platform/Snowflake experience • Strong hands-on Azure experience • Strong hands-on Python programming • Strong SQL development and troubleshooting • Experience with Apache Iceberg and open table formats is beneficial • Experience with Snowflake Cortex and AI use cases within data platforms is preferred
