About the Role We are looking for a Database Engineer to join our team in the asset/investment management sector. This role requires extensive experience with SQL Server and database engineering practices. Key Responsibilities • Perform database engineering with Microsoft SQL Server • Conduct SQL performance tuning and query optimization • Analyze execution plans and implement indexing strategies • Resolve blocking and deadlocks issues • Implement HA/DR solutions and production troubleshooting • Manage database architecture, security, monitoring, upgrades, and patching • Develop scripts and automation using Python, PowerShell, and Bash • Design and implement ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines • Support production database operations and platform engineering Requirements • 7+ years of experience in Database Engineering • Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server • Hands-on experience with SQL Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, Execution Plans & Indexing • Knowledge of Blocking, Deadlocks, HA/DR & Production Troubleshooting • Experience with Database Architecture, Security, Monitoring, Upgrades & Patching • Scripting and Automation skills using Python, PowerShell & Bash • Experience with ETL/ELT, Data Pipelines & Data Engineering • Exposure to AWS, CI/CD, Git, Terraform & Automated Deployments • Strong background in Production Database Support & Platform Engineering
