About the Role We are looking for an experienced Design & Release Engineer with strong expertise in the design and development of automotive exterior lighting systems, plastic component design, regulatory requirements, and product engineering. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop automotive exterior lighting systems from concept to implementation • Understand global regulatory and homologation requirements for exterior lamps • Work on light sources, reflector designs, optics, venting, sealing, airflow, condensation, and mounting strategies • Develop engineering drawings, 3D models, and master sections for lighting components • Define component interfaces to meet craftsmanship, robustness, quality, and performance requirements • Support project delivery from kickoff through engineering design, validation, and implementation • Perform QFD, benchmarking, feature analysis, DFMEA, and DVP preparation • Support CAE analysis, physical validation, lamp testing, and product release • Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) for exterior lighting systems • Work with plastic component design, tooling, and manufacturing processes • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and manufacturing readiness Requirements • 5+ years of experience in automotive exterior lighting design and development • Knowledge of global exterior lighting regulations and homologation requirements • Experience with reflector design, optics, sealing, venting, materials, and condensation management • Understanding of lamp assembly techniques, multi-K injection molding, testing, and validation • Strong knowledge of plastic component design, tooling, and manufacturing processes • Experience with GD&T, mounting strategies, and component interface design • Experience with QFD, benchmarking, DFMEA, DVP, CAE, and physical validation • Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 • Experience with engineering data management systems • Ability to manage engineering deliverables from project kickoff through design release and implementation
