About the Role We are seeking a Senior Java/API Technical Lead contractor to accelerate performance improvements and capability enhancements for our OASIS enterprise content API platform. Key Responsibilities • Quickly get hands-on with the existing Java codebase • Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend architectural improvements • Lead implementation alongside the current team • Utilize enterprise-approved AI-enabled IDEs/coding assistants to accelerate code analysis, development, refactoring, testing, debugging and technical documentation Requirements • 10+ years of working experience • Strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, JVM Performance, SQL/JDBC, Connection Pooling, Caching, Rate Limiting, API Security, Performance Testing, Observability, CI/CD • Enterprise Content Management / IBM FileNet experience is a strong plus • Experience with FileNet Content Engine Java APIs, metadata, document classes, security, and large-volume document processing • Demonstrated experience improving the performance and scalability of high-volume enterprise Java APIs • Practical experience using enterprise-approved AI-enabled IDEs/coding assistants • Ability to demonstrate measurable engineering value from AI-assisted development while maintaining appropriate security, code-review and governance standards
