About the Role We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive the technical direction of a large-scale enterprise Java platform featuring a modern React UI, batch processing systems, partner integrations, and AWS-hosted containerized deployments. The ideal candidate will lead architecture, development, modernization initiatives, cloud operations, and engineering best practices while mentoring team members and collaborating with stakeholders. Key Responsibilities • Lead end-to-end development across backend services, APIs, UI, and integrations • Architect and review solutions within a large Maven multi-module Java/Spring application • Modernize legacy systems while supporting existing server-rendered and React-based applications • Manage and enhance AWS-based deployments and platform reliability • Mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, and improve CI/CD processes • Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders on integrations • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across application, database, and infrastructure layers • Contribute to AI-driven workflow automation and productivity initiatives Required Qualifications • Strong expertise in Java 8+ and large enterprise applications • Hands-on experience with Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Batch, SOAP/REST services • Experience with Hibernate/JPA and relational database design • Strong SQL/MySQL skills including query optimization and schema design • Experience with Maven, multi-module builds, and Tomcat • Production AWS experience with services such as ECS/Fargate, ECR, ALB, Secrets Manager, S3, CloudWatch, and Infrastructure as Code (CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform) • Proven ability to modernize and maintain legacy enterprise systems • Strong leadership, communication, debugging, and problem-solving skills
