About the Role We are seeking a Network Systems Engineer for a contract-to-hire position. This role requires expertise in network administration and security within high-availability, enterprise-scale environments. Key Responsibilities • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN and data communication networks • Configure and troubleshoot networking protocols and technologies • Manage firewall technologies, especially Sophos • Monitor network performance and implement diagnostics • Ensure compliance with IT governance and security standards • Develop and maintain network documentation Requirements • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in network administration and security • Relevant certifications such as CCNA or CCNP • Proficiency in TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, IPsec, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, SDWAN, and VLANs • Experience with Sophos, Meraki, and Cisco hardware • Practical experience with network monitoring, diagnostics, and reporting tools • Familiarity with backup solutions like Cohesity and Veeam • Scripting or automation skills using Python or PowerShell • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work in a team setting and manage multiple projects
