About the Role We are seeking a Platform Engineer for a 6-month contract role based in Sheffield or Birmingham. This position involves designing, building, and operating cloud-based security platforms. Key Responsibilities • Designing, building and operating cloud-based security platforms • Developing software and automation solutions using Python and other modern languages • Creating and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform • Building and improving CI/CD pipelines and platform automation • Managing cloud-native services across AWS and/or Azure • Implementing secure authentication, authorisation and secrets management solutions • Driving observability, monitoring and operational excellence across production environments • Collaborating with engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable and reliable services • Taking ownership of platforms throughout their lifecycle, from design through to production support Requirements • Strong software engineering background with Python, Java or C#/.NET • Hands-on experience with Terraform in production environments • Cloud engineering experience within AWS and/or Azure • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and platform automation • Knowledge of cloud networking concepts including VPCs/VNets, DNS and security controls • Understanding of IAM, secrets management and security best practice • Experience supporting and operating services in production
