About the Role We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and development of enterprise-scale applications. This senior role requires extensive technical expertise and leadership experience. Key Responsibilities • Lead the design and development of enterprise-scale applications using Java, JEE, Spring Boot, and Microservices • Develop modern UI applications using Angular, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js • Design and implement RESTful and SOAP-based Web Services and APIs • Build scalable, cloud-native applications using AWS, OpenShift, Docker, and PostgreSQL • Develop event-driven applications using Kafka and enterprise batch processing with Spring Batch • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Maven, and related DevOps tools • Ensure application performance, security, scalability, and accessibility compliance (Section 508) • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior developers • Lead architecture discussions, code reviews, technical design, and solution implementation Requirements • Strong hands-on experience with Java, JEE, Spring Boot, and Microservices • Technical leadership experience in Agile development environments • Expertise in Angular or React, JavaScript, and modern frontend technologies • Experience with AWS, OpenShift, Docker, Kafka, REST/SOAP APIs, and PostgreSQL • Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, JUnit, Mockito, and Cucumber • Experience with performance tuning, scalable architectures, and enterprise application security • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field • Must be willing to work onsite in Woodlawn, MD, five days per week • Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance • Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical mentoring skills
