About the Role We are seeking an experienced Security Analyst – Project Lead to support statewide security incident response, threat detection, security monitoring, and investigation activities for a public-sector organization. Key Responsibilities • Monitor and correlate security events across SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and threat intelligence platforms • Investigate suspicious activities, validate incidents, identify root causes, and escalate critical threats • Conduct phishing, malware, and security policy violation investigations • Prepare incident reports, investigation timelines, and post-incident summaries • Improve SOC playbooks, detection rules, alert thresholds, and incident response workflows • Perform proactive threat hunting using MITRE ATT&CK and current threat intelligence • Collaborate with security engineering teams, SOC staff, and state agencies • Document SOC processes, runbooks, troubleshooting steps, and remediation recommendations • Support the adoption and effective use of centralized security services Requirements • 2+ years of experience in security monitoring and incident response • 2+ years of experience with the MITRE ATT&CK framework • 2+ years of experience in dashboard creation and reporting • Experience supporting large-scale SOC operations • Associate’s degree in IT, Information Security, or a related field; OR Four years of relevant work experience in lieu of education
