About the Role We are looking for a Senior Google Data Platform Engineer to join our team at Cygnus Professionals Inc. This role involves leading source-domain data engineering delivery, building scalable streaming pipelines, and developing high-quality data models on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Key Responsibilities • Own end-to-end data engineering delivery for source domains • Build reliable streaming ingestion pipelines and curated data marts • Implement data quality checks, reconciliation, and governance controls • Lead a small engineering pod and collaborate with platform architects • Drive code quality, operational readiness, and production support Requirements • 4+ years of GCP experience • 8–12 years of overall experience • Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow • Strong skills in Python, Advanced SQL, and Apache Beam • Experience with Dataform or dbt, dimensional modeling, and conformed dimensions • Knowledge of streaming pipelines, deduplication, event ordering, DLQ and replay • Familiarity with Terraform, Git, CI/CD, and data quality testing • Understanding of Dataplex, data governance, partitioning, and clustering • Technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring engineers
