About the Role We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join an organization that builds scalable Java solutions for organizations where software is mission-critical. The company is breaking vendor lock-in with custom systems that support large user bases and is now focusing on open-source development. Key Responsibilities • Work on greenfield product development • Design and implement APIs and security measures • Make architectural choices regarding queues, event streaming, time-to-live, backups, and testing strategies • Evaluate performance and cost implications of containers versus virtual machines • Develop AI-tooling, experimenting with agents, skills, and MCP-services • Participate in monthly R&D days and knowledge-sharing sessions Requirements • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Java Developer • Strong knowledge of Spring Boot • Clear vision on clean code, clean architecture, and unit testing • Ability to independently determine solution directions • Experience in different domains • Practical understanding of cloud architecture or experience with AI-tools is a plus Benefits • Salary up to €87,360 per year • Direct permanent contract • 1 month bonus • Flexible working hours (32, 36, or 40 hours per week) • 27 vacation days • NS-jaarkaart • Unlimited budget for training, certification, and events • Laptop of your choice • Home office allowance
