About the Role We are seeking an experienced Virtualization Engineer for a 6+ month contract opportunity supporting the Virginia Judiciary’s enterprise infrastructure environment. Key Responsibilities • Design, deploy, and maintain VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments • Manage VMware HA, DRS, clustering, disaster recovery, and virtual networking • Optimize infrastructure performance, capacity, storage, and resource utilization • Perform VMware patching, upgrades, lifecycle management, and security hardening • Troubleshoot complex compute, storage, and networking issues • Automate infrastructure operations using PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools • Administer Windows Server environments, support backup and recovery, and maintain technical documentation Requirements • 8+ years of hands-on VMware vSphere and Windows Server administration experience • Strong expertise in ESXi, vCenter, HA/DRS, virtual networking, and storage technologies • Experience with SAN/NAS, iSCSI, NFS, VLANs, and enterprise server hardware • Knowledge of scripting, automation, security best practices, and disaster recovery • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
