About the Role
BranchLab is seeking a Data Scientist to lead design and implementation of disease modeling approaches using rigorous statistical, epidemiological, and machine learning techniques. This role focuses on privacy-first pharmaceutical commercialization and requires experience translating innovative research into business solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- βDesign and implement innovative disease population modeling pipelines using rigorous deep learning approaches
- βUse SQL and Python to write accurate, understandable, reproducible, and production-quality methods
- βUnderstand healthcare data and the latest machine learning/AI research to improve models
- βCollaborate with solutions and product teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions
- βProvide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and lead technical reviews of models and pipelines
Requirements
- βPhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Epidemiology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- β5+ years of experience building machine learning or statistical models deployed in production environments
- βStrong proficiency in SQL and Python
- βStrong proficiency in statistical and machine learning fundamentals
- βDemonstrated ability to translate business priorities into data science products
- βExcellent oral and written communication
