About the Role

Calico Life Sciences LLC is seeking a Drug Discovery Operations Manager to drive their preclinical drug discovery pipeline. This key role will bridge scientific strategy with execution, managing complex projects primarily through external CROs.

Key Responsibilities

→Act as the central hub between Chemistry, Biology and DMPK teams
→Monitor CRO performance against SOW, budget, and timeline
→Ensure clear communication and data quality among all stakeholders
→Facilitate team meetings for cross-functional communication
→Work with Project Leads to define milestones and deliverables
→Regularly assess project status and proactively suggest solutions
→Develop processes and tools for pipeline project management
→Manage data, materials, and sample transfers between facilities
→Handle contracts and financial tracking for external spend
→Develop and distribute regular project status reports
→Organize and manage project documentation
→Develop project plans and integrated timelines

Requirements

✓Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field with 2+ years industrial experience, or M.S. with 6+ years progressive responsibility
✓Experience managing diverse scientific workflows through external partnerships
✓Deep scientific literacy in drug discovery processes
✓Experience with project management tools and drug discovery informatics
✓Project management experience tracking compound movement
✓Ability to maintain alignment with stakeholders while managing scope
✓Outstanding organization and planning skills
✓Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
✓Ability to manage budgets and forecast expenditures
✓Strong risk assessment and problem-solving skills
✓Effective communication across all organizational levels
✓Ability to foster partnerships and collaboration
✓Ability to design and implement process improvements
✓Willingness to work onsite at least four days a week
