About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join a team dedicated to Elastic's most sophisticated search and AI capabilities. You'll act as a lead contributor and collaborator, bridging the gap between core engine developers and the global community of data scientists and engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- →Work within a dedicated docs team to co-own documentation for the latest features, including vector search, NLP tasks, and LLM integrations
- →Partner with fellow writers to organize complex technical content, ensuring a seamless experience for both beginner developers and expert data scientists
- →Deep-dive into the product by testing API endpoints and providing constructive feedback through peer review
- →Work closely with Engineering, Product Marketing, and Support to deliver a consistent, developer-centric narrative
Requirements
- ✓5+ years in a SaaS or Developer-focused environment writing customer-facing documentation
- ✓Deep expertise in Search & AI: vector embeddings, NLP, and integrating Large Language Models
- ✓API Documentation Mastery: documenting RESTful APIs and using tools like Postman or cURL
- ✓Technical proficiency: reading code snippets in Python and JSON, understanding data structures and search mechanisms
- ✓"Docs as Code" Mentality: proficiency in Git, GitHub, and Markdown
- ✓Strong Information Architecture Skills: organizing large technical content for different experience levels
- ✓Collaborative Spirit: working in a distributed team environment with peer review
