About the Role
We are looking for a Financial Analyst to support Marcus & Millichap's growing Auction Division, providing valuation and analytical support across various commercial real estate product types. This role will report to the Director of Property Marketing and serve as the primary financial analysis resource for the Auction Division.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead the underwriting of commercial real estate assets across all major property types using Argus Enterprise and Excel
- →Analyze and interpret real estate source documents including operating statements, rent rolls, leases, and loan documents
- →Identify and interpret key financial drivers, risks, and sensitivities to influence auction pricing strategy
- →Design, build, and refine cash-flow models to evaluate property performance and investor returns
- →Provide consultative analytical support to auction advisors, clients, and internal stakeholders
- →Synthesize market research into underwriting assumptions and valuation perspective
- →Prepare and present analytical summaries in advisor- and client-facing materials
- →Establish and maintain organized underwriting standards and files
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- ✓7+ years of commercial real estate financial analysis and underwriting experience
- ✓Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and real estate financial modeling
- ✓Working knowledge of Argus Enterprise
- ✓Demonstrated experience valuing income-producing real estate assets
- ✓Ability to abstract leases and interpret complex financial statements
- ✓Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- ✓Clear written and verbal communication skills
- ✓Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple assignments
- ✓Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
