About the Role
We are looking for an Audience Editor to join The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age on a 12-month contract. This role involves partnering with newsrooms to translate audience data into actionable strategies that drive engagement, subscriber conversions, and reader retention.
Key Responsibilities
- →Analyse audience data to identify growth opportunities
- →Provide strategic advice to journalists and editors to optimise content production
- →Track topic performance through regular weekly and monthly reports
- →Present findings and insights at monthly meetings with Life topic editors
- →Help guide decision making around content rollout and marketing
- →Work on longer-term deep dives and analysis projects as requested
- →Monitor industry trends to inform editorial decision-making and strategy
- →Act as the representative voice of the audience within newsroom settings
- →Collaborate with the wider Audience Growth team to align and share priorities
- →Assess content performance regularly and pivot strategies based on insights
