About the Role
We are looking for a Data Protection Specialist to join our Legal & Compliance team at Remote. This role involves assessing and mitigating risks in data protection, adapting operational processes to changes in data protection laws, and providing guidance to colleagues on handling data.
Key Responsibilities
- →Support the Data Protection Team with their day-to-day responsibilities
- →Work collaboratively with all teams at Remote to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
- →Draft, review and maintain policies and procedures on data protection compliance
- →Perform assessments (privacy impact, legitimate interests, vendors, etc.) and improve assessment processes
- →Respond to ad-hoc queries on data protection matters
- →Assist with incident management processes
- →Identify privacy risks and help mitigate those risks
- →Produce training on data protection matters for all teams
- →Assist with Remote’s data protection champions programme
Requirements
- ✓Excellent knowledge of the EU General Data Protection Regulation and proven experience advising organizations on compliance
- ✓Experience in creating and managing data protection policies and procedures
- ✓Experience in managing and responding to Data Subject requests and incident management
- ✓Ability to interpret legislation and develop subject-specific guidance
- ✓Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ✓Demonstrable experience in privacy by design and data protection impact assessments
- ✓Verbal and written fluency in English
- ✓Exposure to global data protection legislation is a plus
