About the Role
We are looking for a Fiction Development Editor to join our content team at Ruby Labs. In this role, you will review serialized romance and fantasy manuscripts, provide actionable feedback on pacing and character arcs, and help develop book briefs that guide authors from concept to publication.
Key Responsibilities
- →Review serialized fiction manuscripts and early drafts
- →Evaluate structure, pacing, and narrative coherence
- →Analyze character arcs and relationship dynamics
- →Assess emotional tension and reader engagement
- →Provide clear, actionable written feedback
- →Suggest improvements to scenes, dialogue, and plot progression
- →Participate in creating and refining book briefs
- →Help define story premises, character profiles, and emotional arcs
- →Support authors with narrative direction and tone
- →Maintain consistent quality across published content
- →Collaborate with writers, editors, and content managers
Requirements
