About the Role
We are looking for a Database Engineer to join Scaleway and shape the sovereign cloud of tomorrow. This role focuses on automating and managing large-scale database systems to ensure service continuity and high performance for our cloud products.
Key Responsibilities
- →Automate database processes and deployments
- →Develop and maintain tools using Python
- →Manage and optimize PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server environments
- →Ensure service continuity and high availability for database clusters
- →Handle Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR) and disaster recovery planning
- →Monitor database performance and manage large workloads
- →Collaborate on architectural improvements for the cloud infrastructure
- →Maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures
Requirements
- ✓Expertise in PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server
- ✓Strong programming skills in Python for automation
- ✓Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git
- ✓Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and backup strategies (PITR)
- ✓Understanding of cloud infrastructure and database architecture
- ✓Strong problem-solving mindset
- ✓Capacity to handle significant workloads and pressure
- ✓Team player with a spirit of sharing and collaboration
- ✓Ability to evaluate and improve existing technical processes
