About the Role
The Athletic is seeking a CRM Marketing Manager to lead high-impact campaigns focused on engaging readers and driving subscriptions. This role involves managing the full campaign lifecycle from segmentation to deployment and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead end-to-end execution of programs to build reader relationships and drive subscriptions across email, push, and in-app channels
- →Implement automation and personalization opportunities through journey building and audience segmentation
- →Experiment with AI-forward workflows and ESP-specific automation to improve campaign efficiency
- →Manage email list health and protect domain reputation across all email efforts
- →Drive continuous improvement of business and team KPIs
- →Communicate proactively with business leaders and stakeholders
- →Partner with Design to optimize existing emails and build new templates
- →Collaborate with Analytics, Product, Marketing, and Engineering on email and push execution
Requirements
- ✓3+ years experience with marketing automation campaigns, focusing on email marketing
- ✓Self-starting attitude with data-driven decision-making capabilities
- ✓Experience with complex audience segmentation and targeting logic
- ✓Proven experience in email/CRM management
- ✓Hands-on experience with enterprise CRM platforms (Iterable, Braze, Sailthru, etc.) and HTML
- ✓Superior project management and communication skills
- ✓Strong analytical skills for creating impactful campaigns
- ✓Experience with A/B testing and post-campaign analysis
- ✓Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
